Frequently Asked
Questions
How can I
get started with a show design? The first thing you need to do is
contact me via email stating that you would like a custom show written. From there, we will
set up a schedule of information and decisions to ensure a high quality show to be delivered to
your band on time.
What do I get when I order a marching band arrangement from
you?
You get PDFs of the scores and parts as well as MP3s of all the pieces. If
you need the music notation file, that can be sent as well.
Do arrangements include percussion parts?
Percussion parts are not included with new musical creations. There will be drumline and
front ensemble suggestions throughout the piece, but full parts are not written by me. If you
purchase a pre-written show, there are percussion parts available. If you are in need of a
percussion arranger, I have several great writers that I can
recommend.
Will I get the
materials on time? As long as I am given everything I need
from you, I will always meet or beat all deadlines. All of my clients are always impressed
with this fact.
Do we need copyright permission?
Permission is needed for all marching band arrangements. The only exceptions
are public domain pieces. I recommend that you use public domain music. There is plenty of
quality music to expose your students to without needing to obtain copyright permission and
costs!
Are revisions included in the
price?
I am perfectly fine with making small
adjustments to the music to fit your group. I ask that major rewrites are avoided if
possible. When a group hires me to write, I hope that they will trust writing
decisions. Large rewrites or song changes will result in a price
adjustment.
When is the payment
due? I am flexible with your bands' schedule. I would like
to have payment by the end of September if possible.
Can we purchase a previously written show?
Yes. There will need to be some changes to meet the needs of your group
and copyright permission will still need to be granted for these newly created custom
arrangements. Contact me for a full list of shows.
